Chef Lowell BIO
Chef Lowell grew up in Vallejo, California in a family of three boys. He developed an affinity for cooking from a very young age and started his own company at the tender age of 11. Due to his parents’ busy work schedule, Chef Lowell and his brothers were often alone. He began cooking meals for his siblings and surprised everyone around him by creating his own box cake during this time.
With brothers who frequently competed in sports and academics, Chef Lowell was driven to excel at everything: from playing sports to academics, which impacted his exceptional talent of creating delicious fare. Chef decided to start his own company and sold his baked goods to his classmates, teachers, family members, and others in his community, while he was in the 4th grade.
By the time he was 16 years old, his grandmother, who naturally assumed he offered catering services, asked him to cook for an event she was hosting. Ever the maven, Chef Lowell decided to start a new catering company. This venture became so successful, that he expanded his offerings by providing products, aptly named ‘CL Products,’ for the cafeteria’s head cook at the very school he was attending. Chef Lowell hired his friends to work with his catering company and earned valuable experience working with others in a work setting. The pound cakes he created while running this catering company as a teenager, are the same pound cakes baked for his customers today.
Chef Lowell attended Morehouse College and graduated with a business management degree. Chasing his determination to further his culinary career, he attended The Culinary Institute in New York City and returned to Atlanta after he completed the program. By then, Chef Lowell began to work in a high-end hotel and garnered skills as a sous chef. After meeting an acquaintance who worked with celebrities, Chef Lowell was asked to be a private chef for the Russell’s. He went on to work in this role for celebrities such as Ava Duverney, T-Pain, Chaka Zulu, Gabrielle Union, Ludacris, Charles Barkley, LL Cool J, Keri Hilson, Former Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and many more. He held events for influential heads of corporations such as Coca-Cola, Delta, Chick-Fil-A, The Arthur Blank Foundation political figures, and others. He has donated his time over the past decade as a chef for many non-profit organizations.
Chef Lowell is no stranger to hard work. He experienced some setbacks and learned to adapt and restructure his company, Chef Lowell LLC quickly. As a dedicated, driven, community-focused, and family-centric entrepreneur, providing economic opportunities for those who want to work in the culinary world is important to the Chef.
The company offers meal prep and catering services to many families in and around Atlanta, and hosts the highly sought-after events, ‘The Chef Lowell Dinners.’
Chef Lowell lives in Atlanta and enjoys competing in triathlons.
